After months of negotiations and fundraising, we are excited to announce that the Share Skipton has finally got the keys to our premises in Skipton, North Yorkshire.

A successful application for funding with Beyondly Global Ltd, a Skipton-based B Corp Environmental Consultancy and Compliance Scheme, has allowed us to recruit our first member of staff.

Share Skipton enjoyed being part of the first Skipton Eco Day, joining over 20 other organisations with an interest in the environment to help run activities and share information to engage the local community.

Share Skipton, in print! The Craven Herald picked up our story and shared an overview of what we’ve been up to to date, our search for a treasurer and premises and shared a link to our online survey.

What a day! For the second Skipton Pride, the sun shone and everyone had a brilliant time with all of the celebrations just off Skipton High Street, along with our Share Skipton stall.

For World Environment Day we set up a stall outside Skipton Town hall and spoke to passersby about what a Library of Things is, the benefit to the environment and to borrowers.

On February 20th, we met for the first time to make some of the first decisions about Share Skipton. The experience and enthusiasm around the table was fantastic!

On Monday 30th January, a group of met to learn more about the concept of a Library of Things and gauge whether it’s something that would be of interest in the local area.
