We celebrated Share Skipton’s Second Birthday on Sunday with a social for our volunteers! Share Skipton’s library of Things and Repair Cafés wouldn’t be nearly as popular without our dedicated volunteers.

Skipton Eco Day was back for its 4th year, this time with the addition of a brand new Eco Trail. The trail highlights places across town that help support a sustainable, community-driven way of living, and included a special word game with prizes at the end. If you haven’t walked the walk yet, let’s go together.

We’re all about keeping good things in use for longer — by borrowing instead of buying, and repairing instead of replacing. If you’re having a clear-out or a declutter, here are some local and national ideas to make sure your unwanted items get a second life rather than ending up in landfill.

Share Skipton was in London for a special Repair Café at the Houses of Parliament. Calling the government to integrate accessible, affordable repairs into the UK’s long-term economic plan, we met MPs, special guests, and volunteers from other repair groups.

Short-listed from 70 nominees across North Yorkshire, Share Skipton took the 'Community Impact' top spot for 2025. As well as a shiny glass plaque, the organisers assembled a short video to showcase everything we do.

Charity trustee Joanna and volunteer co-ordinator Morgan had a fun time being interviewed by Your Skipton Radio recently, as part of their Skipton Business Awards series. Interviewer Alex was very good at making it feel just like a nice chat.

In 2015, the United Kingdom and the rest of the world pledged achieve 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. With five years left, some have vastly improved and others are slipping back. We invite everyone who works in Skipton to enact positive change.
