Share Skipton Attends Skipton BID Business Awards 2026
We are so delighted to have been nominated for this fantastic award! Jill, our Project Coordinator, and Morgan, our Volunteer Coordinator got all dolled up and attended on behalf of Share Skipton. We were nominated for Shining Star of Skipton.
A fabulous evening!
The celebrations began with being greeted at the door with a backdrop and a photographer ready to take our photograph on entry. We went through to the museum in the Town Hall and enjoyed bubbles and canapes along with all the other nominees. We had some brilliant chats with familiar faces, and met many new folks heavily involved in our town!
There was live music to greet us in the main hall, kicking off with a lovely tribute to Dolly Parton.
Skipton BID had clearly been working very hard behind the scenes to design a seating plan to suit everyone. There were 150 guests to accommodate, feed according to dietary requirements and entertain! The decorations were beautiful, with flower centrepieces sponsored by Robertshaws and Elsworth at the Mill. Your Skipton Radio was our host for the evening.
Our MP Sir Julian Smith addressed us and praised Skipton as being a thriving local community. He once visited Share Skipton to see what we were all about and it was lovely to see him getting directly involved.

We then had an absolutely delightful dinner, chatted with our table mates from Out of the Ordinary Shop, and Pitra Waterfront Restaurant, and finished off dessert just in time for the awards to begin being presented.
There were 1,200 entries for the BID awards this year. The categories included:

Jill and Morgan couldn’t quite believe it when they got to the end of the list and Share Skipton was announced as the winner of Skipton’s Shining Star Award! We were absolutely delighted and actually quite emotional!

A huge thank you.
To the incredible team at Skipton BID, to Crag and Co for sponsoring our award category, to everyone who makes Share Skipton possible: our volunteers, customers, borrowers, donors, repairers, supporters and cheerleaders, thank you. Share Skipton simply wouldn’t exist without you.

From an idea in 2023, we’ve grown into a thriving community project, powered by people giving their time, energy, skills and encouragement.
Here’s to everything we’ve achieved together, and to many more repairs, loans, refills and community moments to come.
