What Skipton told us about borrowing and repairing
Earlier this year, we asked people across Skipton about their experiences of borrowing and repairing, and received 169 responses.

The results show a strong existing culture of borrowing and repair, with 76% of respondents having borrowed or repaired something in the previous 12 months. Garden and DIY tools were the most commonly borrowed items, while clothing was the most commonly repaired.
There’s also plenty of appetite to do more: 57% of respondents said they would like to repair more, while 55% said they borrow or repair more because of Share Skipton.
The survey was developed with Craven College Conservation students and ran from 27 March to 30 May 2026. Download the full report below to explore the findings in more detail.
